BMW T1 Motorsport Concept by Miroslav Dimitrov

BMW T1 Motorsport Concept

The BMW T1 Motorsport concept is a creation of Miroslav Dimitrov, a Coventry University Transport Design graduate currently working in Italy for one of the most prestigious car manufacturers in the world.

The BMW T1 Motorsport is a supercar designed to celebrate BMW's achievements in motorsport. The BMW T1 Motorsport is a supercar devoted to BMW’s Motorsport success.

BMW T1 Motorsport Concept

The BMW T1 Motorsport was originally planned more like GT sports car, but the final result was a pure supercar powered by a mid-mounted engine V12. The concept features a lightweight carbon fibre monocoque chassis, double wishbone suspension - front and rear. The exhaust pipes are positioned at the back-top of the car just above the suspension and the engine bay - like F1 race cars.

BMW T1 Motorsport Concept

The T1 Motorsport has an unusual feature built into the roof panel and windscreen. The panel is hinged at the front of the chassis – just in front of the windscreen. When entering or exiting the car this panel lifts-up, at the same time the doors open sideways in a conventional manner - this setup ensures easy access to the interior. To keep the whole carbon-fibre chassis working as a single rigid shell, when closed this panel integrates completely with the carbon fibre chassis and the body of the concept.

BMW T1 Motorsport Concept

The interior of the BMW T1 Motorsport concept is inspired by mechanical components and parts - it is balanced between innovation, design and functionality. The interior is upholstered and trimmed in white & blue colors, and is designed to offer the best experience and performance for the driver.

BMW T1 Motorsport Concept

The T1 Motorsport concept is finished in plain white only, with racing stickers including the M-Power motorsport stripes.

BMW T1 Motorsport Concept

If the BMW T1 Motorsport were to be manufactured it would be in a limited run of just 499 units. 400 units available for the market, 99 units factory homologated for racing activities. Maximum speed would exceed 230 mph (370 km/h).

The Mini E Electric Car with Free Emissions

The Mini E will have a range of about 150 miles and will initially be offered to select private and corporate customers in California, New York and New Jersey, but will first be given its world premiere at the LA Auto Show on November 19th and 20th, 2008. As for its speed, BMW claims that it will offer acceleration to 62 mph in 8.5 seconds with a top speed that is electronically limited to 95 mph.

BMW Group says that putting 500 cars on the road under real daily traffic conditions will make it possible to gain widely applicable hand-on experience. Evaluating these finding will generate valuable know-how, which will be factored into the engineering of mass-produced vehicles.

Based on the current Mini model, the car will initially be available as a two-seater. (The space in the back seat will initially be taken up by the lithium-ion battery.) The battery can be plugged into all standard power outlets and its charge time is strongly dependent on the voltage and amperage of the electricity flowing through the grid. That’s why, in the USA, buyers will receive a wall-box that will ship with every Mini E. The wall-box will be installed in the customer’s garage, enabling higher amperage. Wall-boxes will fully recharge the batteries after two-and-a-half hours.

The Mini E’s styling is a bit different. A specially designed logo in Yellow, depicting a power plug in the shape of an “E” is set against a silver backdrop. It will be applied to the roof, the front and back, and the charger port lid. Production of the approximately 500 cars will take place at the company’s Oxford and Munich sites and is scheduled for completion before the end of 2008.

BMW 8-series Evolution Sin City Screamer January 2006

Building upon the idea of its luxurious 750iL sedan, BMW turned to a comparable 2+2 coupe for 1991. Introduced in June 1990, it served as the successor to BMW’s 635CSi coupe and cost even more than the 750iL. BMW’s familiar “twin-kidney” grille was installed, but the rear-drive 850i wore hidden headlamps, a feature never before seen on BMW models in the U.S.

Although its 296- horsepower, 5.0-liter V12 engine came from the 750iL, the new 850i was created with a more sporty demeanor. Either a 4-speed automatic or a new 6-speed manual transmission could be installed. Standard 850i features included Automatic Stability Control (ASC), which limited power to the rear wheels when wheel slippage was detected during acceleration. Models with manual shift got a different version, ASC + T, which also applied brakes to the rear wheels to restore traction. The 850i was the first model to use BMW’s new Seat-Integrated Belt system, which integrated the belt system into the seat instead ofA anchoring it to the floor and/or roof pillars. All 850i coupes had a driver’s airbag and antilock braking.
