Funky Toyota Hi-CT Concept Car

The Toyota Hi-CT is a city car concept which had been revealed at the previous 2007 Tokyo Motor Show. In Toyota’s words the Hi-CT concept is designed to deliver a new “coolness” inspired by “the thinking and lifestyles of youth”.

For a small car the styling of the Toyota Hi-CT is chunky and bold. The high sides and short windows exaggerate the truck-like design. At the rear of the Toyota Hi-CT concept there is a removable trunk and a deck where surfboards, bicycles and other equipment can be stowed.

Powered by a hybrid drivetrain, the funky Toyota Hi-CT uses a 1.5 liter engine and an electric motor. The under-floor mounted battery can be recharged from the mains. The location of the battery has the effect of raising the drivers position giving better visibility, while also lowering the vehicles center of gravity. The Hi-CT is also fitted with an 100V socket which allows power from the battery to be used for any electrical device.

Concept Car, Mazda Kaan at LA Auto Show Design Challenge

Mazda Kaan is an electric race car that was created for the 2008 LA Auto Show Design Challenge. Inspiration for the Mazda Kaan comes from electric fields and textures seen in nature, particularly those in a lightning bolt. Mazda Kaan concept was designed to compete in a conceptual race series Mazda has dreamed up - E1 racing.

Mazda Kaan story says that in 2025, California freeways have been resurfaced with a sub-level electro-conductive polymer that powers the electric cars of the modern world. Mazda’s electronic tire system uses this technology to power the Kaan concept to reach 250 mph with no harmful emissions!

The vehicles are piloted by individual drivers but teams are made up of thirty cars, all on the track together. Using strategies similar to those in cycling peletons, the tighter the group sticks together, the more aerodynamic and powerful it becomes.

The car is uniquely designed around its powerful electric wheels while the cockpit acts as a capsule to safely house the driver, allowing for tighter peloton formations and a team victory.

BMW 8-series Evolution Sin City Screamer January 2006

Building upon the idea of its luxurious 750iL sedan, BMW turned to a comparable 2+2 coupe for 1991. Introduced in June 1990, it served as the successor to BMW’s 635CSi coupe and cost even more than the 750iL. BMW’s familiar “twin-kidney” grille was installed, but the rear-drive 850i wore hidden headlamps, a feature never before seen on BMW models in the U.S.

Although its 296- horsepower, 5.0-liter V12 engine came from the 750iL, the new 850i was created with a more sporty demeanor. Either a 4-speed automatic or a new 6-speed manual transmission could be installed. Standard 850i features included Automatic Stability Control (ASC), which limited power to the rear wheels when wheel slippage was detected during acceleration. Models with manual shift got a different version, ASC + T, which also applied brakes to the rear wheels to restore traction. The 850i was the first model to use BMW’s new Seat-Integrated Belt system, which integrated the belt system into the seat instead ofA anchoring it to the floor and/or roof pillars. All 850i coupes had a driver’s airbag and antilock braking.

MoVille "Peugeot" Tear Drop Shaped Futuristic Car Concept by Woo-Ram Lee

MoVille "Peugeot" Tear Drop Shaped Futuristic Car Concept by Woo-Ram Lee is a compact single passenger vehicle with artificial intelligence and zero-emission drive train. Once you look at this vehicle, you will feel that you have entered into Robot world. There are three magnetic wheels which are rotated with the help of electro magnets. For saving space in urban areas, MoVille can tilt up and down.

It features wireless road network in order to connect to other vehicles and road network. With this feature, it can judge where it is located on the road and where other vehicles are. MoVille is also fully equipped with immediacy sensors, cameras, and GPS. Small size and Omni-directional wheels enable anyone to park it easily.

Text from the designer "Woo-Ram Lee" :
MoVille consists of a single passenger capsule over an electric drive train. Three magnetic ball wheels are rotated without frictionless through electromagnets. Passenger capsule is shaped in an aerodynamic teardrop shape for maximum efficiency. It also tilts up and down for saving space in urban streets and become more aerodynamic on highways.

MoVille’s compact size takes up less space in dense urban cities. Because it has a sliding window door, it is easy to get in and out of in tight spaces. The passenger capsule tilts vertically to save space on the road and pivots for getting in and out.

MoVille features wireless road networking that allows for it to communicate with other cars and the road network. It is aware of where it is on the road and where other cars are. This allows for reduced traffic jams since cars can accelerate/decelerate synchronously. It also reduces the possibility of accidents.

MoVille’s small size and omni-directional wheels means it is easy to park. Equipped with proximity sensors, cameras, and GPS, MoVille can drive and park automatically.

MoVille features an organic led display on the façade that allows passengers to communicate and personalize their own cars. Because MoVille doesn’t need any headlamps, the OLED “eyes” are used for displaying vehicle status (running/charging/turn signal/etc).

MoVille has an artificial intelligence which allows it to act more like a robot than a car. MoVille recognizes its owner and opens its doors when you approach it. MoVille can drive itself allowing the passenger to save time.

Although MoVille can drive itself, it can be manually controlled with your digital devices like cellphones and portable game consoles. MoVille communicates with these devices which allow the car to be driven wirelessly. The dashboard can be retracted on demand.

New Concept Car from Peugeot Design Competition by Ognyan Bozhilov

Peugeot COncept Car by Ognyan Bozhilov

This is a new car concept from Peugeot Design Competition. This concept car was designed by Ognyan Bozhilov the car is a small 3-seater city car perfect for a small family to drive around the city. This designing marvel is a hybrid system with a small 1.6 liter HDI engine and an electric motor and the engine is placed above the rear wheels.

The reason for this was for overall weight distribution and the unique aerodynamic design makes it possible to touch high speeds. This giving that driving pleasure without compromising on the environmental aspect, something which seems to be one of the primary belief that Peugeot is believing in. So go green and enjoy!

Text from the designer" Ognyan Bozhilov " :
This concept presents a small 3-seater city car. It is powered by a sophisticated hybrid system, consisting of small 1,6 liter HDi engine and an electric motor. Unlike most small cars the engine is placed above the rear(driving) wheels, actually making it a mid-engine car. This improves weight distribution, gets rid of the complex, heavy mechanics for power transmission and makes the unique, aerodynamic body possible. The big windscreen, together with the center position of the driver contributes to perfect visibility and makes even short trips joyful experience.

Another innovation is the rims which consist of two parts- outer(10-spoke classic) part which is free to rotate and inner part with Peugeot neon logo, which is stationary and great to behold, especially at night. For safety considerations the tail-lights are designed in such a way that the harder you press the brakes the more LED light up to warn the driver behind. The car is inspired by Nature and designed to work in harmony with It. It proves that small and practical cars can be stylish as well.
